Here is the second Pros and Joes video from this year. This video includes some pro riding but mainly the Joes. Again, super sick and thanks to Shawn at wakeboardingfilms.com for the work. Visit his site and enjoy his videos :)
The 5th Annual South Florida Wake Association (SFWA) Pros and Joes Wake event was held on November 12th, 2011 in West Palm Beach at beautiful Lake Okeeheelee. The event was a success highlighted by incredible riding from both the Pro and Amateur riders, excellent weather, a wide variety of sponsors and a great crowd. This year’s event Pro List included Scott Stewart, Daniel Powers, Nicola Butler, Steele Lafferty, Adam Errington, Zane Schwenk, Josh Palma, Andrew Adkison, JD Webb and Phil Soven. Not to be outdone, the amateur rider list included some up and coming names like Noah Flegel, Keenan Allen, Robby Holihan and soon to be known Juan Mendez.
The tone of the event was set by the smooth vocal stylings of the Dano-the-Mano and overall this year’s event boosted the best all around level of riding seen in all five past events. In addition, this year’s event included filming via helicopter. The resulting footage was amazing and available to be seen on the SFWA website, www.sfwake.com.
The SFWA is proud to host this event each year but the hosting of the event would not be possible without our sponsors. The sponsors this year included South Florida Mastercraft, Motion Watersports, CWB Board Co., Red Bull, Muscle Milk, Broward Motorsports, Jamba Juice, Exceed Wetsuits, Nacho Bizness, Wakeboardingfilms.com, Boca Raton Helicopters, R2R productions, Evidence Clothing, Virtue Wakeskates, Nike 6.0, Billabong/Von Zipper and Just-In-Time window tinting. Again without our sponsors the event would not be possible. In addition, the SFWA would like to thank the event volunteers and Zane Schwenk. Zane is a great ambassador for the sport of wakeboarding and it is through his help that this event happens each year.
The tournament is simple; each pro is paired with three amateur riders to form one team. The teams each take two sets. The score for each team set is added together for one team score. From there first to fourth places were handed out along with a best crash award. The trick level was insane this year with numerous wake-to-wake sevens being thrown by the am riders. In the end the winning teams were as follows (Click the Read More link to see winners and Pictures):
Big thanks to Boca Raton Helicopters for filming and to Shawn Morrison of www.wakeboardingfilms.com for the edit. More to come and if interested in purchasing some film of the event, contact Shawn via his website.
What would Pros and Joes be without our sponsors? The simple answer is nothing. So writing this year’s recap is SFWA member, event participate, amazing rider and good friend Tracy Baynham. Tracy took the lead and asked to write a recap, she did and the SFWA thanks her for her involvement. So without further ado, the event recap for the 2010 SFWA Pros and Joes Wake event.

The 2009 SFWA Pros and Joes Wake event is complete and we are proud to say it was huge success. The weather was perfect as the temperature hovered around 85 degrees all day with a slight breeze and clear skies. The crowd was amped with an estimate of almost 1,000 spectators filtering through the event throughout the course of the day. The vendors and sponsors put on an excellent show as they displayed the latest and greatest products. Finally, and probably most important, the riding from both the pros and the Joes was unbelievable. This is the fourth event hosted by the SFWA and with each event the bar is raised and the level of riding showcased is both impressive and a testament to the level of talent in South Florida.
Hope to see you there! Good way to start the weekend.

Great article … SFWA represents!

For decades, surfing has been the premier water-based extreme sport. Infinitely linked to the coastal waves of Hawaii and Southern California, surfing has grown into a huge money-making sport with sponsored contests, magazines and even video games.
Everyone, please check this spot regularly as the rail is getting closer to completion each day. New pictures will be forth coming. Hopefully the rail will be in the water within the next couple of days after the small setback. As you can see the plywood is back on and everything is moving forward. Enjoy. – Jimmy B.
